Kindergarten Klubhouse!

At DeLong we use Read Well as our main Kindergarten literacy program. It integrates song, movement, rhyme, poetry, trade books, and art projects into daily lessons. Below are some pictures from our classroom from some early ReadWell lessons as well a link to pdf file describing an overview of the whole program.

This is our apple tree we made during Unit 1 Aa. We learned the song "At the Apple Tree" and each child came up and put their apple on the apple tree.

This is our flannel board, our Ee Poem, Lap Book, What a Wonderful, Wonderful School, and trade book, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?"

These are our alphabet cards. Each week we learn a new letter and I turn over the letter card. We play a guessing game to figure out what the new picture is going to be and use the letter sound as a clue. So far we've done Ant on an Apple, Eel on Wheels (for the long e sound), and Horse in a House.

These are our pocket chart cards. For many songs and stories, ReadWell provides pocket chart cards to add visual clues for students. Watch my PM Class singing the "I Hear" song.
